+++ September 2008: I call London my new home +++
Finally, I have arrived in London. From what I have seen so far it is a lot more than just Europe's financial centre. I find myself in a pulsating, super-diverse and giant city with a great deal of social and cultural offerings. At the moment, my new job is consuming most of my time and attention. But I am very sure that I will be able to start actually living here soon. And here are some first impressions of my flat that I share with two very nice flatmates:

+++ October 2, 2007 +++ Oktoberfest +++
Despite the work on my thesis kind of ruining the fun, I have spent some fun time at the Oktoberfest recently. Yeah, Oktoberfest, or d'Wiesn, as the locals call it. What it means? Well, it has something to do with a king in love, his beautiful wife, a great fairground and a population of beerlovers - you'll get the rest in Wikipedia.

An you gotta love beer if you visit d'Wiesn. And dancing, too, on the tables. Ah yes, and singing, too... So you do not speak German?! Doesn't matter because most of the songs' choruses sound like sha-lala, o-o-oh, hey-hey-hey and so on. Just try not to fall off the table while drinking, dancing, and singing. Here is how it works.

Dear visitors, please understand that I will not be able to have a beer on everyone who could not make it this year. If I'll still be in Munich next year, you are more than welcome to join us and get a taste of the world's biggest fair. Prost!
